Statement

I am an enthusiastic Surface Pattern Designer specializing in hand painted and screen printed wallpaper design based in Swansea, Wales. After spending many years studying art and design, my knowledge base and design experience is constantly increasing and helping me gain a greater design instinct.

 

Education

• BA Surface Pattern Design - Textiles for Interiors- UWTSD Swansea 2014.

• Higher National Diploma - Surface Pattern Design - UWTSD Swansea 2013.

• Foundation Diploma (Merit) - Art & Design - UWTSD Swansea 2011.

 

Acomplishments

• New Designers 2014 Exhibitor.

• Several designs exhibited at Indigo Paris 2013 & 2014. Successfully selling one design to Spanish fashion design company, Lavand.

• Finalist for Quilt Design by constructing a hand stitched, dyed and felted quilt for the National Wool Museum and the Welsh Quilt Centre in Wales, UK.

• Worked on a Live Competition Project for TOAST Fashion Company in Wales designing a pattern range using a given colour palate and design brief.

• Hand Painted design exhibited at Oriel Bach Gallery in Mumbles, Swansea.

• Exhibited hand stitched installation piece inspired by Slovakian spiritual protective patterns at UWTSD Foundation Show.

 

Skills

• Comfortable using and designing on Photoshop CS6.

• Traditional textiles classes undertaken for 3 years including processes such as screen printing, tie-dye, devore, puff bind, wool resist, natural dye, acid dye, illuminating discharge printing, cross dyeing, pigment printing and many more.

• Work placement at Mirjam Rouden - Textiles Design Studio - London - August 2013.

• Work placement at Graham & Brown Wallpaper Design - Lancashire - September 2013.
